PUBLIC TRANSPORT MUST BE MADE ACCESSIBLE TO ELDERLY, DISBLED, AND VULNERABLE PEOPLE SAYS EQUALITIES COMMISSION


The Government-funded Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) has warned transport operators that they must make public transport easily accessible to vulnerable groups of people or risk facing legal action. The Commission launched a new project on 26 September to support disabled, elderly, or vulnerable people who have experienced discrimination while using, or attempting to use, public transport.

The new scheme provides direct support to assist in resolving complaints, including offering advice and help with correspondence, or providing funding for legal support for a discrimination claim. There is a direct on-line link to the help available on the EHRC website at this link:
