Winter fuel u-turn

We welcome the Chancellor`s announcement on 9 June that the Winter Fuel Payment will be re-instated to around 9 million pensioners earning below £35,000. This new threshold is 3 times the Pension Credit threshold that was applied last November, and is in line with the average earnings. This is a major U-turn in response to the widespread public anger at the decision taken in July last year, which CSPA has actively opposed with our partner organisations, at meetings with MP`s and at Parliamentary demonstrations.
