Social Care proposals by the Government is considering making Social Care in England the responsibility of the NHS

The Guardian has reported that Camilla Cavendish, David Camerons former policy chief who has been tasked with finalising social care proposals by the Government, is considering making social care in England the responsibility of the NHS, increasing its budget to £150 billion.

The merger would see councils lose their responsibility for social care, and aims to make it easier for people to access the care that they need and reduce pressure on the NHS.
